Mike Tomlin (born Michael Pettaway Tomlin) is an American football coach who began his career as a college football coach leading up to the NFL. He is the first African-American head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tomlin also is the youngest head coach to win the Super Bowl at the age of 36 after the Steelers won in 2009. Recently, he surpassed Bill Cowher after reaching 150 regular-season wins by a Steelers head coach.

Along with a successful coaching career, Mike Tomlin also has a successful marriage. Mike married Kiya Winston, a fashion designer, in 1996, right after graduation.

Tomlin met his now-wife, Kiya, while studying at The College of William & Mary. Mike was pursuing law at the university while his wife was studying medicine and was also a gymnast.

Tomlin was a terrific player in college. He was a wide receiver and had a school record of 20.2 yards-per-catch average. However, despite studying law and graduating in Sociology, Mike switched to football, particularly to coaching.

To support her husband, Kiya also switched careers. She gave up her medical degree and gymnastic to join the University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Art, and Architectural Planning. There, she studied to become a fashion designer.

As a daughter of a divorce, Kiya grew up watching her mother struggle financially while supporting her children. It was one of the reasons for Winston to pursue a medical career.

However, after marrying Tomlin, they were always on the road, moving from city to city due to his coaching career. But after joining the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2007, Kiya and Mike have found a permanent home in Squirrel Hill, located at the East End of Pittsburgh.

After 25 years of marriage, Mike and Kiya have three children, Michael Dean, Mason, and Harley Quinn.

Kiya is also the owner of Uptown Sweats, a collection of re-imagined sweatsuits for women launched in 2014.
