Sources Say There Was No Bad Blood Between Colin Jost And Ryan Reynolds On SNL Set

Ryan Reynolds visited the set of Saturday Night Live earlier this week, and while some might think it would’ve been awkward for the two men – considering Ryan was once married to Jost’s fiancée, Scarlett Johansson – sources state it was normal and easy-going, claims Page Six.

A source who spoke with the outlet stated there was “no problem” at all between the Deadpool star and SNL host. Reynolds was with Alex Moffat during Jost’s “Weekend Update” segment, and at the time, Jost quipped that Reynolds and Alex were his two closest friends.

As most know, Johansson and Reynolds were married for two years from 2008 until 2010. Scarlett then married Romain Dauriac in 2014, however, they split up in 2017. In the past, Scarlett has been more than candid regarding her split with Ryan.

Previously, during a Us Magazine interview from when she and Romain were expecting a child together and were still gearing up to get married, the Under the Skin alum shared her experiences getting divorced from Ryan in 2010.

Regarding her perspective on changing relationships, the star said she learned after the fact the importance of understanding one’s own needs. Additionally, the 29-year-old said to reporters from Glamour in the 2014 May issue that she learned the necessary skills to communicate to her partner, but also to herself.

Scarlett explained it was a reflection of who she was at the time, rather than a reflection of who she was married to. Reynolds and Scarlett broke up in December 2010 after being married for just two years.

An insider stated that distance played a huge role in their romance’s undoing. For the most part, Johansson and Reynolds managed to keep their romance under wraps and away from media headlines, but it wasn’t enough to keep them together.

Ryan Reynolds, on the other hand, married the Gossip Girl star, Blake Lively, on the 26th of September of 2012. In the same Glamour interview, Scarlett also shared that she wasn’t overly fond of her internet nickname either, “ScarJo.” Regardless, it’s good to see that Colin and Ryan have managed to remain friendly, despite their potentially awkward commonality.
