Luke Perry Tragically Passes Away Following Severe Stroke
It is a very sad day in Hollywood. Legendary actor Luke Perry, best known for starring in ‘Beverly Hills, 90210,’ as well as for playing Archie’s dad on Riverdale, has tragically passed away at the age of only 52.
As you may know, Perry was initially hospitalized for suffering a major stroke and TMZ reports that he lost the fight earlier today.
On February 27, the actor was hospitalized and his rep told the news outlet that the doctors put Perry in a medically induced coma, hoping to give his brain a ‘fighting chance.’
Unfortunately, the trauma proved to be too much, and he did not survive it.
Luke Perry found fame back in 1990 when he landed the role of Dylan on the teen drama Beverly Hills, 90210.
He soon became a heartthrob that many 90s teenagers swooned over.
His most recent role was on Riverdale, where he played a different kind of character, but still enjoyed it very much.
During an interview for The Hollywood Reporter back in 2017, Perry shared that: ‘I like playing the father because I like being one, and I think it is a great character in the milieu of this show that I am the grounded one, and I am the guy who truly cares about [K.J. Apa’s Archie], who cares about doing a good job and being a good construction worker. I love that.’
As for his personal life, Luke was married to Rachel Minnie Sharp for ten years (from 1993 to 2003) and had two kids together – a son named Jack, born in 1997, and a daughter named Sophie, born in 2000.
